Testing Magnet Pull Strength
See how we test the strength of our magnetic latches and catches in this short video.
This video features our 01793 Round Magnet, with a rated pull strength of 7kg. You can see that even a single sheet of paper between the magnet and steel plate weakens the magnets pull considerably. To get the most from your magnet, make sure it's mounted flush to a flat piece of plain steel, as paint or an uneven surface will reduce the strength of the magnet.
